The Consumer Affairs Department (Daco by its Spanish acronym) and Inter American University have entered an alliance to provide free legal representation to consumers with claims before the watchdog agency or the courts.
“Through this accord both entities maximize their resources and make them more accessible to citizens. This will allow consumers to receive first-hand legal help from the specialists at Inter American University’s School of Law,” said Daco Secretary Luis Rivera Marín.
“This initiative promises to provide the expertise and necessary practice to law students who are close to graduation,” said Rivera Marín. “Everybody wins. The law students earn experience and consumers get legal representation for their cases.”
