Beverly Ramos became the most decorated Puerto Rican track athlete in Central American & Caribbean Games history when she won gold in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at Centroamericano Stadium in Mayagüez on Friday night.

The first-place finish added to her earlier 2010 CAC Games haul: A gold medal in the 5,000 meter race and a bronze in the 1,500 meter event.
The three medals pushed the Trujillo Alto native ahead of two legendary Puerto Rican track athletes who had each won two medals in previous CAC Games.
Rebekah Colberg won two gold medals in discuss and javelin at the 1938 CAC Games in Panamá.
Angelita Lind, known as the “Angel of Patillas,” who won gold in the 1,500 meters in the 1982 CAC Games and gold in the 800 meters in the 1986 meters.
